Darnell Hunt is a professor of sociology and director of the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies at UCLA. His research interests include race, media and cultural studies. In this video he talks about the book he co-edited with Ana-Christina Ramon: Black Los Angeles: American Dreams and Racial Realities.

Hunt is among the authors who will appear at the 15th annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, held in association with UCLA, on the weekend of April 24-25.
