UCLA enjoys a global reputation for academic excellence, but did you know that right in the middle of all this concentrated energy, right in the middle of this world-class research university, are every-bit-as-world-class dance, drama, music, museums, architectural gems, film festivals, lectures and library exhibitions that are available not only to students, but to the entire Los Angeles community?
Boasting six major performance halls, theaters and playhouses, several galleries and two internationally acclaimed museums, UCLA hosts more than 1,000 events that attract half a million arts enthusiasts each year.
Our School of the Arts and Architecture plays a vital role in the cultural and artistic life of the campus and the community, with six departments covering every spectrum of the arts world and including some of the world’s most renowned artists, architects, dancers, designers, musicians and scholars.
The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, one of the best in the country, has produced many talented alumni who have won Oscars, Emmys, Tonys and nearly every other meaningful artistic accolade in the performing and film arts.
Add two of our own museums — the Fowler Museum at UCLA and the Hammer Museum — one of the country’s most respected outdoor sculpture gardens, and a leading performing arts presenter, UCLA Live, and you know there’s never a dull moment here.
UCLA is truly an amazing place.
