The UCLA Health System

Coming in 2008, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center represents a whole new level of hospital design that will keep UCLA on the leading edge of medical science and patient care delivery.

Built for Miracles

At UCLA, the best doctors in the world are performing pioneering work across an astounding range of disciplines from organ transplantation and cardiac surgery to neurosurgery, geriatric medicine and cancer treatment.

  • More than 100 UCLA physicians are listed among the Best Doctors in America.
  • UCLA Health System treats approximately 335,000 patients each year.
  • 95 percent of the patients at UCLA Health System are California residents.
  • UCLA Health System has a staff of over 2,000 physicians.

And we are a committed community partner. In fact, more than 70 percent of our medical students and some 200 faculty participate in community health programs each year. Some of those programs include training Los Angeles firefighters and paramedics to treat stroke victims on-site; and addressing a multitude of child health and welfare issues at the Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities.

With a comprehensive array of research and clinical centers, addressing topics from stem cell biology, AIDS, gene therapy, neurosciences, women’s health and geriatrics, UCLA continues to define what an academic medical center can be.
