It's the Biggest Thing on Campus: Bruin Bash and Welcome Week

UCLA is an amazing place. And the new year breaks out of the gate with an amazing Welcome Week of fun, festival and food — and it's all free!

The big week begins Sept. 24 with the stupendous Bruin Bash: concert, dance, sneak preview movie, even an extra midnight movie for night-roaming Bruins. Next morning, wake up (not too early) to an officially Enormous Activities Fair with 150 groups, giveaways, music, and performances, all starting at 10 a.m.

If you're a new student, Welcome Week is the time to explore the wide world of UCLA that exists outside the classroom. And you can celebrate the fact that you don't have any homework assignments or tests looming (yet).

The action continues through Sept. 29 with a constant shower of freebies, from carnival games and raffles to food, poker tournaments and sample sessions of kayaking and windsurfing. If your practical side gets nervous, you can even go to a Job Fair. All you need for Welcome Week admission is your Bruin I.D.
